The Ministry of Interior on Monday informed the chief secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), through a letter, that intelligence agencies' reports had indicated a group of people from KPK have intentions to march on Islamabad with a declared intention of paralysing government institutions in Islamabad.
"It is also learnt that certain cabinet ministers and members of KPK's assembly intend to lead some of these processions along with their official and personal armed body guards," read the letter.
Concern over such participation is a clear violation of law and breach of public order, added the letter.
The letter sent by the Ministry of Interior also said the federal capital and the Ministry of Interior have not accorded any permission for any such protest in Islamabad.
"It is, therefore, imperative for the provincial government of KPK to take all necessary measures to prevent any such unlawful congregation within its own jurisdiction and also take effective steps to stop any movement of organised (and armed) mob towards the federal capital," elaborated the letter.
Secretary interior had also warned the KPK government that if effective steps are not taken, it shall amount to a violation of constitutional obligations of the provincial government for which it shall be held responsible.
PTI should obey court decision: Irfan Siddiqui
Special Advisor to Prime Minister Irfan Siddiqui on Monday said PTI chief Imran Khan should obey court decisions.
"The government is not against peaceful protest but nobody can be allowed to disturb the lives of patients, students, traders and citizens," said Siddiqui.
"Imran Khan is not ready to accept any institution including the Election Commission of Pakistan, National Accountability Bureau and the judiciary," he added.
Answering another question, Siddiqui negated the possibility of imposition of Governor rule in KPK.
"The government has no plan to impose governor rule in KPK," he said.
