China assembles first indigenously designed aircraft carrier

China has completed design work on its first indigenously designed aircraft carrier, media reports quoted a spokesperson for the country’s ministry of defence on Thursday.
According to the reports, equipment was being installed to country’s first domestically-built warship at a shipyard after the assembling of the hull was completed Chinese experts.
Chinese navy is successfully operating its sole aircraft carrier Lianning,  a 60,000-tonne refurbished Soviet-era warship and Pentagon said last year that Beijing could build multiple aircraft carriers over the next 15 years.
The United States navy is operating 10 aircraft carriers and work on The $13-billion USS Gerald R. Ford is also underway.
India inducted an old aircraft carrier from Russia in 2014 while an ageing British vessel is set to retire this year.
