Boy turns out to be ‘killer’ of parents, three siblings

GUJRAT: Police on Sunday claimed to have unraveled the mystery shrouding murder of five people some two months ago at Moinuddin Pur village, saying a 16-year-old boy turned out to be “killer” of his parents and three siblings.
Police said they had arrested the suspect.
District Police Officer Sohail Zafar Chatha told reporters at a news conference that Mustajab Shah was killer of five people of his family including his father Syed Tasawar Shah, a bank manager, mother Samia Khawar, brothers Mursal Haider, Salman Haider and his sister.
The DPO said police had detained several suspects for investigation into the case including the suspect, Mustajab, who confessed to have committed the crime.
In his confessional statement, the suspect said he took the extreme step because his parents did not love him as much as they loved his siblings. He added that he was often treated very harshly by his parents.
A maternal uncle of the suspect, who was complainant in the case, had earlier nominated the family’s rival Shahid Shah and others in the FIR lodged under sections 302, 109, 148, 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and 6/7 of the Anti Terrorism Act (ATA) on September 5.
The family had enmity with Shahid Shah group for the last few years following assassination of former member of district council Syed Talib Hussain Shah, who was maternal grandfather of the suspect.
The police had earlier arrested some suspects belonging to Shahid Shah group. Shahid Shah, a former nazim of Moinuddin Pur union council has already been facing trial for murder of Talib Shah. Following Mustajab’s confession, police exonerated the arrested suspects, including Shahid Shah, his brother Azhar Shah and others nominated in the case.
