Imran should tell people about his father, says Bilawal

DHARKI: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Friday that Imran Khan should tell the people about his father Ikramullah Niazi.
Addressing a public gathering in the Dharki area of Dharki sub-district, Bilawal said enough was enough, and that he and the people had tolerated “Chacha Imran Khan” for a long time, adding that Imran leveled baseless allegations daily while standing on stage.
He said Imran had even leveled allegations against his mother, Benazir Bhutto, and his father, Asif Ali Zardari. Bilawal said Imran repeated the allegations leveled by Nawaz Sharif against his father. He said the duty of rulers was to open passages to others and not to close them.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that sacrifice of the lion was necessary for saving democracy in the country, adding that in 2014 the lion was saved while saving democracy. He said Imran Khan should tell how much “help” was provided to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) by Uncle (Ahmad Shuja) Pasha. Bilawal said he would spill the beans if he was forced to speak by Imran Khan.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari alleged that Imran Khan and Gen Hamid Gul had jointly hatched Hamid Gul had jointly hatched a conspiracy against Benazir Bhutto. He said Mian Sahib is prime minister and not the king. He said this is democracy and not the kingship of Takht-e-Raiwind.
Bilawal said the opposition should work jointly. He said if Imran demanded minus-one formula, then he would too demand minus-one, adding that Sheikh Rashid would be the chief of the PTI after minus-one and he would work better than Imran Khan.
He said all have become blind for seeking power, and the county was in a crisis, adding that the PPP had nothing to do with that kind of politics.  The PPP chairman said his party had presented its four demands to the PML-N government.
He said democratic accountability on terrorism, democratic accountability on Panama, economic justice in projects like the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and democratically accountable foreign minister were a must. Bilawal warned that if PPP’s four demands were not accepted, then the prime minister would be held responsible for any kind of loss.
He said the government had not only failed in foreign affairs but also in all other fields. He said for the last three years, the country was being run without a permanent foreign minister, adding that an incompetent prime minister was running the country for the last three years.
Bilawal said the whole nation should have to be united for fighting terrorism. He said terrorists were killing our sisters and brothers. He said the government had no will and intension to fight the war against terrorism.
Bilawal said PanamaLeaks was the biggest corruption scandal of the world. He said the accountability should start from the prime minister. He said the prime minister would have to respond to the allegations leveled against him in the Panama Papers.
He said if the bill submitted by Aitzaz Ahsan in the Senate was not passed, then the judicial commission could not function.
He said if the judicial commission did not function, then the government could not continue functioning. He said democratic accountability was needed over the Panama issue.
He said if the government focused on some specific areas and neglected some other areas, then the federation would be weakened. Bilawal said he wanted to foil the designs of Narendra Modi.
He said negative impression regarding CPEC was being created by the government through its actions, adding that the recommendations of the APC, which had been called by former president Asif Ali Zardari regarding CPEC, should be implemented.
Bilawal said innocent people were being martyred at the Line of Control (LoC).  He said Narendra Modi was hatching conspiracies, but the government was not responding. He said Pakistan was being isolated in the world due to the policies of the prime minister. He said a full-time foreign minister should be appointed.
The PPP chairman said the rulers were not worried about the people and the country.  Bilawal said the PPP senators should not come out of Senate until and unless his demands were met.
He said if Nawaz Sharif did not pass the Panama bill, then all would come to know why democracy was the best revenge. He said accountability needed to start from the prime minister and the premier needed to present himself for democratic accountability.
“PM Nawaz Sharif would now have to present himself for accountability, and the accountability needs to be democratic,” said the PPP leader.
Bilawal said he was not accusing the prime minister of corruption, but the evidence brought forth in the Panama Papers revealed his corruption for all to see.
The PPP chairman said the current policies pursued by the government of Nawaz Sharif were some of the worst in the history of the country and the same policies had divided the people.
“We need the people to be united, but Nawaz Sharif’s flawed policies have divided the people,” added Bilawal.
The PPP chairman blamed the government for failure to solicit world’s help over the Kashmir issue. “I am amazed that a three time elected prime minister is unable to find a foreign minister,” he said.
He said Nawaz wanted to make Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi happy and make Afghanistan and Iran angry.
“Zulfikar Bhutto glorified Pakistan, and you (Nawaz) destroyed it. Pakistan is becoming isolated because of your policies,” he said.
Bilawal said economic inequality should be eradicated and democratic economic justice system should be adopted otherwise the federation would become weaker.
“Rs200 billion spent on a train project in Lahore while only Rs12 billion given for train project for the most populated city of Pakistan, Karachi,” he said.  “What good is the Gwadar Port if the residents of Gwadar are unable to find even potable water?” he asked.
Bilawal also stressed eradication of terrorism from Pakistan. “Our struggle is to uproot terrorism and our struggle is for peaceful message of Islam. Jinnah and Bhutto’s Pakistan must be cleansed of terrorism,” he added.
Bilawal said he had brought change to Sindh and the party, and if the people supported him he would bring change to Pakistan also.
